The 8th edition of the Tehran International Sculpture Symposium has been scheduled to be held in the courtyard of Milad Tower.
Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization Director Isa Alizadeh recently said “14 foreign sculptors from 13 countries along with 15 sculptors from Iran will create their works on travertine.”
Speaking at a press conference, he added that the foreign sculptors to arrive in Tehran and take part at the event are from Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, and Turkey among the others.
The symposium, to be opened on Friday, will be held in different sections of international, national and student.
While international and national sections of the event are competitive, the student section, where the young students will work to gain experiences with the professionals, is non-competitive.
The almost three-week program, organized annually by the Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization, will continue until May 13 and the winners will be announced on May 14.
The symposium is aimed to beautify and help the urban environment of the city as well as to familiarize the citizens with the process of making new designs.
